The 99th season of NFL (National Football League) is set to to begin on 6th September 2018 with the opening match between Super Bowl winners Philadelphia Eagles vs Atlanta Falcons. The pre-season begins in the first week of August 2018. In the regular season there will be 256 games played over 17 week period from September to December 2018. Each of the 32 teams will play 16-game schedule with of course one bye week for every team and the regular season finishes on 30th December 2018 with the last league games (all 16 intra division matches)
Philadelphia Eagles will start their 2018 NFL campaign with the four pre-season matches set to be played 07 August 2018 to 31st August 2018. Their regular season begins with the opening game against Atlanta Falcons on 07 September 2018. Eagles will play 16 regular season games and their last match will be against Washington Redskins on 30th December 2018. You will find live links of all NFL matches right here on this page.
Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl 2018 and they will be one of the favourites again to go all the way under one of the best coaches in NFL, Doug Pederson. As its been tradition that previous season Super Bowl winners open the new NFL season and eagles take on Atlanta Falcons on 06 September 2018 in what should be a cracking game at the LINCOLN FIELD STADIUM.
Most NFL experts predict Eagles to reach the Super Bowl 2019 and might as well defend their title. Eagles have one of the most expensive roster in whole NFL and they are looking very good to finish of the Patriots Dominance.
Last week, the Atlanta Falcons had a strong showing against the Washington Redskins. Fans of the Falcons will hope that the team can continue their renewed playoff push and maybe squeeze out a Wildcard berth.
That said, if the Falcons are unable to rally and steal a win on the road against the rudderless Cleveland Browns, Atlanta’s season is likely over. The state of the NFC South is simply more competitive than we initially imagined. It is growing more likely that the Saints either win the NFC outright or finish second thus winning the division and picking up a first-round bye.
The Carolina Panthers have been a shocking team and have outkicked all expectations I had for them heading into the 2018-2019 season. Currently, they are slotted to finish as an 11-5 team. If the Saints win the division and the Panthers pick up a Wildcard bid then it is unlikely the Falcons will scratch the playoffs.
Luckily for the Falcons, the Browns are a franchise in disarray after firing head coach Hue Jackson two weeks ago. Even though the Falcons have a depleted defense (the recent signing of linebacker Bruce Irvin will help that out), they should still have the offensive firepower to thrash the undermanned Browns.
One matchup that will be interesting to watch will be how does Baker Mayfield fare against a defense that has been consistently abused by quarterbacks this season.
Ultimately, I envision this game being won and lost by the Falcons offensive line. If the big boys up front can create time for Ryan to be a playmaker from the pocket, this should be a runaway game. That said, the Browns have fielded an excellent defense this season and does feature star pass rusher, Myles Garrett.
